enCOREage

Main content start

enCOREage is a collaboration of CASBS, Honor Education (a technology education company), and CORE, a global collaboration of economic researchers and educators that is changing how undergraduates learn economics.

enCOREage is the response to the systemic failure of U.S. colleges and universities to educate our least well off and under-represented minority students. We will produce an introductory economics ebook and supplementary content, targeting students in HBCUs, community colleges, and other under-resourced institutions. Applying the best practices from modern learning science, we will create online tools for course creation, teaching, and assessment that will facilitate instructor adoption, engage students, and encourage perseverance in the study of economics.

enCOReage is led by Simon Halliday (2022-23 CORE CASBS fellow), Wendy Carlin, Samuel Bowles, Margaret Levi, and Mary J. Lopez, the 2023-24 CORE CASBS fellow. It was launched in collaboration with the CASBS program Creating a New Moral Political Economy, led by Margaret Levi and Zachary Ugolnik.

enCOREage is grateful for its support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

For more information, please contact CASBS Program Director Zachary Ugolnik (zugolnik@stanford.edu).
