American Studies Scholar and Former CASBS Fellow Sacvan Bercovitch Dies

Sacvan Bercovitch, Harvard University’s Powell M. Cabot Professor of American Literature, Emeritus at his death, served as President of the American Studies Association in 1982-83 and was awarded the Bode-Pearson Prize for Lifetime Achievement in American Studies in 2007. His life and work, including his fellowship at CASBS (1979-80) is remembered in this obituary prepared by the editors of the American Studies Association.
