Ian Kysel

While at CASBS, Ian M. Kysel will complete work on a book manuscript, The Human Rights of Migrants. The project leverages comparative historical and legal analyses, contemporary interview-based fieldwork, and the novel Migrant Rights Database (visualized at www.migrantrights.info) to better understand why the world has struggled to protect the human rights of migrants and identify how that may change despite today’s political landscape.

Kysel is a clinical professor of law at Cornell Law School, co-directs its Migration and Human Rights Program and is the founding director of its Transnational Disputes Clinic. Kysel is also a non-resident Fellow at the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility at The New School. Kysel’s research and clinical work focuses on international migration and refugee law and international dispute resolution.
