The founding—and continuing— mission of CASBS is to advance knowledge on major societal challenges. As our fellows and affiliates wrestle with this century’s greatest challenges, our physical infrastructure requires upgrading to match the ambition and scope of their work.
CASBS must provide appropriate space for the full range of projects and activities that we now carry out. While improving locations for individual reflection and opportunities for serendipitous interaction, we must also provide high-tech meeting rooms for group projects.
The CASBS site renovation will enable the Center to complement its enduring commitment to individual scholarship with new spaces for collaborative interactions. At a total cost of approximately $7.5 million, we can:
CASBS has a remaining goal of $400,000 to complete its $7.5 million goal for this project. With generous support from our board members, CASBS already reached an important fundraising milestone and can proceed with advanced planning for the site renovation. We invite all former CASBS scholars and friends of the Center to participate with as significant a gift as possible in pursuit of this once-in-a-generation goal.
